You may have noticed that there haven’t been many posts as of late, but fortunately, we shall be taking the plunge once again!  So here goes /deep breath/ we’re going to update our wordpress program from 2.2 to 2.3 soon.   

Now, the biggest beef we have with this is that there have been horror stories from parts of the globe complaining about how this or that was erased post-wise.  Or how some plugins have gone stale and don’t work anymore, but…2.3 comes with some nice new features, one of which is a nice ‘icon’ system for comment posters and upgraded features for bloggers.  Should be good…hopefully.   

Once we get it working, we’ll celebrate with some more media uploading (been letting the piles of pictures build up) and more posts.  So hold onto your butts!

Also, make sure to stop by the forum on your way out and grab some of those fairy points. Supposedly there are quite a few tricks that we have yet to implement like a place to spend your “fairies”.  There have been plenty of developing topics in the past few weeks that are just itching for your input so go ahead and check it out!

Oh yeah, one more thing!  The new theme that has made this site so baller has a sidebar which blocks out a chunk of the Construct forum.  So click here in the meantime while we edit the page a little.  This should bring you straight to the Construct while we update the page. And leave your comments on what else you’d like to see happening on this site, hope to hear from ya!  

There is a strong possibility of a Thanksgiving (the turkey-day) get together this year. We would like to include CT, RI, and Mass residents in this. Supposedly what will happen is that on November 22nd (Thursday), we’ll all get together in the early morning and head out to see a movie, grab some lunch, and then hang by our toes until we scream. So keep on the lookout for more on that stuff.

I’m going to see if I can find a cool calendar to display all the stuff we want to do.

You might have noticed that the old Construct has disappeared. We have a new forum up and running. During the switch, we realized we couldn’t port anything from the vanilla server over to the new forum5 server, so we’ll have to start from square one with the topics and posts. This means you’ll have to register in that forum. But it’s easy, so it shouldn’t be a big hassle.

Hey, at least there are ‘fairies’ now. You want to know what that is? Ask Mr. Josh because I have no CLUE what they are for.

The forum will contain the same things as the Vanilla forum, with the exception of a brand new Philosophy area, where all our premier debaters can throw their intellect at problems plaguing everyday life such as why we insist on debating about problems plaguing everyday life.

“Why stick up a new forum?”, you might ask. Well, the reasons were plenty but aside from the fact that Vanilla was too light for our taste, we also wanted something that had alot of customizability. Vanilla has too much in the way of bugs and errors to be really good at this point in time. Perhaps in the future we’ll revisit that forum and get it working top notch again, but until then, the new one we have is the way to go.

Anyway, I’m gonna head in there right now to check it out. Hope to see you guys there. Look for ‘Redline’, that’s me.

Quick question while I’m here, does anybody have issues with the website displaying improperly? I have Firefox on MacOSX and it tends to stick things in the wrong places. But aside from that I can see everything fine. Are all y’all good?

Keep lookin’ for that snow too!

Man, what happened to that 70 degree weather in October? I have to wear my jacket now? Oh wait, only until Friday anyways, then it’s mid 70’s again. Haha.

So we had a get together at Bro. Dennis’ house on the 7th and watched the after attempting to sing some karaoke. *Sigh, Karaoke is way hard. You see, to sing karaoke, you either have to 1) Sing like Michael Jackson or 2) have absolutely no shame at all. I can do neither and just sound like a baby trying to scream the sing the song through a straw…filled with helium. Then again where I got a chance at shamedom, Bro. Sil didn’t sing anything at all. You just wait man, your time will come! So we decided to give it another shot in a few weeks, to finally make an album for people to listen to…of only…karaoke. Yes…that’s right. Just karaoke, Sil.

Then just last weekend, we had another get together at Bro. Darwin’s place and watched because Bro. John couldn’t stand to see anything else, especially a movie he hasn’t watched yet. *wink*. Bro. Josh getting wiped on the floor like a broom and those drums, what is it about those drums!

So those pictures from Bro. Dennis’ place and Bro. Darwin’s should be up in just a little while. The forums have seen a little less action in the past few days, I can understand everyone has a little pressure at school, so it’s no big deal, we’ll have it up to par again in no time. Just wait for Thanksgiving break.

Speaking of Thanksgiving break, does anybody have any ideas for what we can do just before the big meal?

Also, ’softing on the 27th, so make sure to have your day called off. Hopefully we can do this at Bro. Don’s house this time. We’re probably going to spraypaint the trees this time, so none of us get lost. Because hey, I’m directionally challenged, just ask anybody who has ridden in and car with me to Boston. Also, we’re gonna get some white BDU’s in a bit! Yay for snow and cold!

So after a pleasant stint at Boston last Sunday evening, about 22 of us were able to invade a nearby Ihop at around 8PM. I think the poor waitress who had to deal with all our youthful vigor took it in good stride. The problem was that as soon as the first table finished eating, the last table was just getting finished ordering the food.

Oh well, the amount of laughter and good times more than made up for it. Hopefully, I’ll be able contact Bro. James and ask him to send me a few of his pictures so I can stick them up here.

By the way, has anybody heard of a get-together being planned by Bro. Dennis at his house? I heard that some good ol’ singing is on the menu for this Sunday!

Had a great time last night with everybody for that birthday celebration at Daniel’s by the Waterfront. That was really cool eating outside and all and hopefully next time, we can do another dinner at that place when it’s a touch warmer outside. John is getting me the pictures so I can stick those up in a few.

Also! We’re starting a forum discussion about videos that people want to share with our ThinkBox community. So if you have some video online, or something that could be put online that you’d like to share, let us know in the Construct so we can stick it up! Our video page is looking lonely, hehe.

Other news: As we’ve stated before, we have plans for the colder months in the works now. The winter activities are alot of fun…they’re like…it’s hard to explain.

You know that feeling when the winter moves in and you wake up one morning to the sight of a blissful white covered land outside your window, you sloooowly get up, because you’re warm and snug in your blanket. You might pick it up, wrap it around your body and move to the computer where you check for the school cancellation announcements and realize that school really is canceled, and that the whole day is yours to squander?

It’s like that, yeah!

So we’re planning trips all over the place. Hopefully we’ll get to do the big one which is actually sleeping in a cabin over night and then skiing all day someplace up north. Movie runs, banding, LANing. I think it was asked if the girls could take the guys out to the mall and dress them. What do you think that means?

Additionally, the pictures from last weekends Lake Compounce trip are up.

So just to recap the Sept. 15th activity, a few of the brethren had a chance to head out to Lake Compounce for a day of screaming like little girls.  Those pictures will be going up in a just a little bit.

Additionally, Bro. Dennis just handed me a disk full of pictures from Labor Day, and videos too…

I’ll see if I can’t stick the video up into a tidy little box for everyone to view.  It’s seriously funny stuff.

Annnnd, ’softing this Saturday at Bro. Don’s house hopefully!

September 2nd, 2007

Around 2pm, people have started to arrive at the area, setting up tents, the canopy for the food area, and the fireplace. By 5pm, there were at least 5 families running full steam to get the place setup and ready. I did arrive with Gemma and a truckload of firewood, which was summarily taken and setup around the firepit. Little did we know, we only had about 3 hours of the stuff to burn, so another trip was required later. Oh well, 20/20 hindsight.

Sick game of volleyball. Righteous. Must’ve gone on for at least an hour before we started keeping track of the score. In which case, the losing shot was made and the team I was on, froze on the bounce-back. We all stood there for a second contemplating how funny that was, before shaking our heads and screaming “blaaarrrrgghh!”.

Towards the evening, most of the tents were setup, Boston was able to hop in to the picture and join at the giant fire which was baking everyone around it. We all took turns talking and telling stories. The marine stories, biblical stories, the random ones, the “how crazy my workplace can be” stories, Mcdonald’s stories are included in a category of their own, bloody mary, the variety of jokes, and the slightly childish scary stories (where the ‘plants’ utterly failed). Haha, next year, you just wait! We’ll have you jumping out of your chairs.

Tick…tock…boom number 1! Wait…team one is already out? You mean we lost? Man!

Most of the late nighters went to sleep around 2AM-6AM, myself included. I awoke to my tent being undone around me and dropped on my poor sleeping body. After belly crawling out of the wreckage at around 8AM, breakfast was already up and ready, with people manning the cooking machines making eggs and whatnot. Smells and looks absolutely delicious after a pseudo-all-nighter. Pancakes, anybody?

Around 10AM we started the contests, which were basically things to embarrass whoever participated, started.

First the worm eating contest, where some people actually chickened out at the last second. Because c’mon, who wants to eat worms anyway? Especially gummy worms, teehee! That was really really messy, just check out the pictures.

The next contest involved watermelon eating, and lots of it. Very messy, probably worse than the worm eating. The next contest was banana eating, blindfolded. That was interesting considering Bro. Jeff wrestled the banana into my uvula initiating my gag reflex, yeah we still lost.

The relay, which was fun, consisted of lots of stuff which is weird.

Balloon throwing contest and the tug-o-war. The tug-o-war, was quite interesting, because the females defeated the males on the first match, then the next two were all to the males. But heck, it was fun.

All lunchtime was devoted to jamming on the guitar to many varied and unusual songs. Along with lots of food and water. Yes the water…

Lots of water fights! Because that was the consequence of losing the tug-o-war, despite the fact that Bro. Hank was helping the females!

After that, tents were broken down and put away, and everyone said they had a great time, and told me about what they wanted to see next time. Because next time is gonna be even better!

It’s been brought to attention that there is a Lake Compounce activity being sponsored by Pfizer on the 15th of September.  If anybody is interested in heading out, Bro. Darwin has the information for you.  Oh yeah, and the park will be just for the Pfizer people, the rest of the public will be barred from attending that day…now take that home and chew on it.

Just downloading and uploading all the pictures that were taken over the camping trip. There are plenty. What I’m going to do is probably make 2 pages for the pictures because there are that many. I’ll also shrink them down a bit so they load faster. If you want the full size pictures, you can just request them, I’ll try to send them out as best I can.

Also, if anybody has any videos of the camping trip, send them our way. I’ll make sure to include them on the site.
