What a blast! The party last Sunday was great fun. Everybody had a chance to be there so I’m glad that John brought his heavy duty camara and took some pictures for all of us. I should have those up in a little bit. Out of the 120 pictures he took, I’m trying to find 36 of the best ones to put up.

Oh and John took some amazing candid photos of the ’softing game, too! Those will be linked to the birthday party of Athena.

Anyway, Gemma is starting to fill out the application form for the camping this summer. I think we may settle with Pachaug State Park because we’ve been there and it’s great for our size of people. So I’ll let everyone know what’s happening when!

   Is it possible to stay an extra night? When we went camping in California, it didn’t feel like REAL camping until the day after the 1st night. I really don’t like waking up the day after the 1st night just to pack up and leave. Are we going there on a Sunday? Maybe we’ll just take an extra day off work on Tuesday. Of if you plan it for Friday night to Saturday, we’ll just go a day early on Thursday. But we won’t do the 2-nighter alone…any takers?

   We have to take into account the fact that college students are in school already, by Labor Day (fall semester starts probably a week before that). So a Tuesday extension may not be entirely plausible for two people I know.

   Me too, high schoolers are in school and I don’t think its possible. And I for one, don’t know why we don’t do camping DURING the summer vacation that every college/high school/middle school/elementary and parents can take a day off or two if they feel like it. Oh, the way the world spins.

   We like labor day because about 90% of the people working, or I dunno, some larger percentage of working people have that day off as opposed to other days. When we take into consideration the camping, we have to make sure that everyone has the day off to really participate.

   Labor Day is kinda “the universal” in that a majority will have the day off without having to call out ’sick’ and get a day taken off vacation time.

   We could do it during the summer, but that’s usually when alot of other activities take place and many families are out on their own vacations. The transition from summer to school is the best time to do it because everyone is home gearing up for the school year.
